About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Owner to oversee and lead water projects in Angola. This person is responsible for prioritizing activities within the process, ensuring a smooth flow, and bridging the gap between the organization’s strategy and the demands or visions of stakeholders. You´ll play a crucial role in overseeing the end-to-end management of the specific processes and you´ll serve as a leader who not only organizes and directs your teams but also collaborate closely with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of water infrastructure projects, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing complex programs within the water sector. The Process Owner will play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering multiple projects to achieve strategic goals, ensuring quality, efficiency, and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Strategy Development: Develop and execute program strategies, aligning them with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide overall leadership, guidance, and direction to project teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and effective communication.
  • Project Planning and Management: Create and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial limits.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, clients, and government bodies to ensure compliance with regulations and local requirements.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges, implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and track project progress, regularly reporting to senior management and stakeholders on milestones, challenges, and accomplishments.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, optimizing resource utilization across projects.
  • Relationship Building: Foster and maintain strong relationships with partners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to enhance project performance and cooperation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate regular project review meetings, identify lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements

  • Educational Background minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water or Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in successfully managing and delivering water infrastructure projects, preferably in Angola or similar environments.
  • Program Management: Demonstrated experience in program management, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, etc.).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and relevant industry standards in Angola.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in Portuguese and English languages, French is is a plus.
