Service Engineer Imaging in Angola
About The Position
Position Overview:
The Service Engineer, is a critical member of our national service team; this is a field-based, customer-facing role that primarily calibrates and service (preventive and corrective) Yapama/Philips imaging equipment at our customer sites. Our SE's represent the "Face of Yapama" to the customer.
The Service Engineer reports to the COO of Yapama.
The position requires travels to Angola provinces (where the hospitals are located).
Responsibilities
Start-up, calibration and service of a selection of imaging modalities (CT, MR, X-Ray and Ultrasound); provide expert level to service and install solutions; communicate and escalate technical issues and delays; keep installation projects on schedule; assure quality; evaluate room layout and installation quality of our mechanical install vendors; start-up in accordance with factory instructions and specifications; troubleshoot technical problems and repair out of box failures; correct vendor and factory errors and mistakes; order missing or damaged parts; provide feedback to HQ and support center, factory, project management and planning. Execute all service activities and task on equipment under responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complex equipment installation, investigative tests, and repairs installed systems in assigned modalities.
- Maintains tools & parts inventory under own responsibility, support schedule maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and completes documents required of all interventions from preventive service, corrective to installations.
- Performs complex service or systems calls and interfaces with customer personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Performs assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field data and recommends modifications or improvements.
- Successfully demonstrates thorough/ advanced knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
- Generally, 4-5 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
Requirements
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Technical training or degree, associates or higher; minimum of 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- X-Ray, Computer Tomography (CT) and/or Magnetic Resonance (MR) Experience Preferred
- Previous working experience in Philips, holding Philips certification - an advantage
- Expert level troubleshooting skills and capable of evaluating room layout, site planning and service planning
- Must be able to effectively set up and connect hospital networks to Philips remote diagnostic applications.
- Requires superb customer and communication skills.
- Must be organized, self-sufficient and capable of working with little or no supervision.

- Fluent English - mandatory. Portuguese - an advantage.
